Thanksgiving Romance

I spent a couple of days tossing around ideas on what would 'hit the hot spot' for my first post here. Since my first release with Total-E-Bound won't hit the cyber shelves until December 7, talking about Stupendously Yours seemed a bit premature. But the fact that the story is part of the Christmas Cracker releases sparked an idea for a different upcoming holiday: Thanksgiving!

I don't know about you, but when I hear Thanksgiving the first words to pop in my mind are ones like turkey, dressing, pies and family. It's a holiday to be thankful for the things we have and the people in our lives. One word I don't often associate with Thanksgiving is romance? Think about it, how romantic have your Thanksgivings been? With this in mind, I set on a surfing expedition and found a nifty, and crafty, idea to show that special someone in your life how thankful you are to have him/her. This idea is courtesy of While you're there, check out some of their other ideas in their Thanksgiving Romance Guide.

Basket of Thanks

What You'll Need:
Basket (If you have time, decorate with a fall theme!)
Separate colored strips of paper for each person
Pencil or pen
2 to 3 minutes a day

The Idea:

About a week or so before Thanksgiving, cut out strips of paper, enough for each person to write at least one message a day until Thanksgiving. Set out the basket, the strips of paper and a pencil or pen in a spot you and your partner have easy access to. Each day before Thanksgiving write a message about what you are most thankful for about your partner. Fold up the message and place it in the basket. Your partner should do the same. During a private moment on Thanksgiving Day read the messages that have been written. You may choose to read the messages aloud to each other, or just read your partner's messages quietly.
If anyone decides to try this I would love to know how it turns out! Do you have any other romance ideas for this Thanksgiving holiday you would like to share? I would love to hear them too!

Happy Romantic Thanksgiving everyone.
